Fire destroyed Loomis garage

A fire occurred at a detached two-car garage near the home of Pamela and Alan Brann at the end of Mardell Lane in Loomis Tuesday night. No injuries were reported.

A nearby neighbor said she saw the flames from her deck around 6 p.m. and called 9-1-1 while her husband went to the house to notify the couple and offer help.

“My dog started going crazy and I heard booms and I thought there was someone shooting a high powered rifle out here,” Pamela Brann said about Tuesday night. “I came out around the side of the house and it was all in flames.”

Fire crews were dispatched to the scene about 6:40 p.m. Tuesday, said Pat Nelson, the Placer Hills Fire Protection District’s battalion chief.
